Fernando Santos Defends Cristiano Ronaldo Against His Enemies

Portuguese professional football manager and former player who played as a defender and is now the manager of the Portugal national team, Fernando Santos has spoken about the ongoing Cristiano Ronaldo issues.
The manager of the Portugal national team has examined that, the ongoing cases about Cristiano Ronaldo leaving Manchester United have brought the superstar a lot of issues. Everyone has turned against the superstar and the negative comments are becoming too much.
Cristiano Ronaldo denied a report which claimed he threatened to leave the World Cup after being dropped for Portugal’s 6-1 against Switzerland in the last 16.
Fernando Santos says they had “a frank and normal conversation” but Ronaldo never told him he wanted to quit the tournament.
Santos benched Cristiano Ronaldo for Portugal against Switzerland, a move which caused controversy about ultimately produced the team’s best performance of the tournament as they romped to a 6-1 win, with his replacement becoming the first player to score a hat-trick this year’s World Cup.
Ronaldo has continued to dominate the headlines in the aftermath of his axing and was forced to deny a report which claimed he had threatened to leave the ongoing World Cup.
Santos has sought to clarify the situation with Ronaldo himself ahead of Saturday’s quarter-final against Morocco and leaped to the defense of Portugal’s superstar.
“Cristiano Ronaldo doesn’t deserve all of this, after everything he’s done for Portuguese football. Leave him alone” said Fernando Santos.
