Former Black Star Coach Kwesi Appiah Goes In Again As He Applies For Black Stars Coaching Job

Former Black Star Coach James Kwesi Appiah is set to take another step into the Black Stars as he plans to coach. He claims that he submitted his resume and application for the position after learning from the Ghana Football Association that no Ghanaian coaches had applied.

James Kwesi Appiah declined to apply for the position because he believes he has the expertise and experience to lead the Black Stars as a local coach.

“Yes, I have applied for the position at Black Stars.” I have added mine to compete with the whites because I heard no Ghanaian coach had applied for the job since the position became vacant,” said Kwesi Appiah.

After Ghana’s exit from the FIFA World Cup, Otto Addo resigned from his position, leaving the Black Stars coaching position vacant on December 2022.

James Kwesi Appiah was the first black coach to qualify Ghana for the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil. He worked with the Black Star from 2012 to 2014 and from 2017 to 2020.
