Life And Achievements Of The Late Christian Atsu

International football icon Christian Atsu was born to Mr. and Mrs. Atsu Twasam on January 10th, 1992 in Ada Foah, Greater Accra Region. He and his nine other siblings weren’t born with a silver spoon and their dad was a fisherman. But that didn’t Christian Atsu from focusing on his dream of becoming a professional footballer.
He joined Feyenoord Scoccer Academy in Gomoa Fetteh and played his way to bigger teams like Chelsea, Fc Porto, Rio Ave, Vitesse, Everton, Bournemouth, Malaga and Newcastle United.
During his football career he bagged the following awards due to his exceptional football skills: At Porto, he won the Portuguese league title as well as the Portuguese Super Cup. He was also voted as the club’s young player of the year in 2011.
Atsu was voted the player of the year at Vitesse in 2014. He emerged as the player of the tournament during the 2015 African Cup of Nations (AFCON). With Newcastle United, he won the EFL Championship in their promotion season.
On 6th February 2023, Atsu was reported missing during the Turkey-Syria earthquake which took a lot of lives and was confirmed dead on 18th February.
His death shocked the world because the 31-year-old footballer was just entering the twilight of his career. He is survived by his wife Marie-Claire Rupio and three children.
