Over 50 Commercial $ex Workers Arrested In The Eastern Region
The Koforidua District Police Command has commenced operation to clamp down commercial s*x workers in the New Juaben South municipality in the Eastern Region. About 50 commercial workers of which more than 90% are of Nigerian descent were arrested on Saturday.
The operation backed by the Member of Parliament for New Juaben South, Michael Okyere Baafi, who doubles as the Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry started on Saturday when the commercial s*x workers were rounded up in brothel, streets and ghettos.
The MP has vowed to make commercial s*x work operations an unprofitable venture in the region. Okyere Baafi said their work will not be tolerated in Koforidua to destroy the image of the town and decay the morals fiber of the society.
He called on residents particularly landlords to volunteer information about commercial s*x workers in the area to be taken.
He made this known when he addressed the Pentecost International Worship Center in Koforidua on Saturday, June 11, 2023 congregation during the climax of the National Youth Week.
