Rumours Eddy That Ryan Reynolds Is Interested In Purchasing Ottawa Senators

Canadian-American actor, best known for playing the Marvel Comics character ‘Deadpool’, Ryan Reynolds is reportedly showing interest in buying the Ottawa Senators if the NHL team is put up for sale.

Rumors are circulating that the actor, who already co-owns the Welsh football club Wrexham AFC, is interested in the opportunity for both business and personal reasons, new reports claim.

According to a source close to the actor, he would like the Senator to stay in Ottawa, as a sale could potentially result in the team’s relocation.

The actor has not yet opened up or publicly commented on the matter. He posted a playful tweet on Tuesday showing his interest in purchasing the club.

Ottawa Senators is a hockey club and colloquially known as the Sens, is a professional ice hockey team based in Ottawa. They compete in the National Hockey League (NHL) as a member of the Atlantic Division in the Eastern Conference, and play their home games at the 18,652-seat Canadian Tire Centre, which opened in 1996 as the Palladium.

Owner Eugene Melnyk passed away in March 2022 due to an unspecified illness. In statements in recent years, Melnyk had said that he planned to leave the team to his two daughters Olivia and Anna when he had been asked if he intended to sell the team.

Although there had been speculation about owner changes. The team added an “EM” patch on the jersey for the rest of the season. In November 2022, the team engaged a New York City investment banker to facilitate a sale of the team.
