Winneba Senior High School was founded through the establishment of the private school Ghana Secondary and Commercial Academy in Winneba by Mr. Bortey in 1949.
As a result of managerial and financial problems, Mr. Borteys school children agitated for the takeover of the school by Ghana education services.
Is the mission of the school to harness qualified and motivated staff as well as material resources to create equal opportunities for young boys and girls to develop their potential through self-discipline and self-awareness.
Is the vision of the school to become a world-class second-cycle institution that produces graduates with exceptional leadership and innovative abilities to meet the ever-changing and increasing manpower needs of our dear nation, Ghana.
